Our Independent Living Services Program: In this program, we serve adults with developmental disabilities at their homes and in the community to help increase or maintain their independence. DSPs travel to meet 1-3 individuals per day and provide one-on-one skills training based on their individual goals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for: Assisting participants in their homes with tasks such as budgeting, meal planning, hygiene practices, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Providing opportunities for the participant to develop socialization/interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation/coping techniques. Providing hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's household tasks and assisting with further development. Advocating for participants' inclusion in the community and empowering them to exercise their rights. Use BuildAbility’s digital program to log the individual’s progress and performance. Schedule: 1 Part-time hire: 15-20 hours per week Mornings to evenings Hours assigned are subject to change weekly based on availability Work location: Los Angeles Region (Los Angeles, Hollywood/West Hollywood, Pasadena, Glendale and Burbank) Compensation: Starting at $18.00 - $21.00/hour (dependent upon prior experience and qualifications). High school diploma or GED. Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance. Valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Willing to travel: up to 75%. Fluent in Spanish preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Fluent in Spanish. Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
