  Pay Range: $20.01-22.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   The Adult Skills Center (TASC) provides innovative and proactive services that empower individuals with diverse intellectual, developmental, and mental health needs to achieve their highest level of Independence and realize their greatest potential.  The Supported Employment Direct Support Specialist ensures assistance is provided as needed for program operations and clients. Provide coaching for newly hired clients in the community; assist with adjusting/acclimating and learning new job. Work with case managers and job developers to identify challenges and ensure best outcomes for clients. Participate in new hire orientation for clients offered employment in community.  Primary duties:   * Orients the client to the work setting. * Models all job duties and works alongside client in each employment setting.   * Adheres to the dress code, company policies, and culture on the client employer (tattoo’s, hair color, jewelry etc.)  * Develops and follows a checklist that identifies all job duties that must be completed during the work day.  * Completes daily care notes and/or data sheets. * Trains the client to complete their assigned job duties to employer expectations. * Teaches the client appropriate workplace behavior.  * Assists the client in developing professional relationships with co-workers.  * Provides support, instruction, coaching, counseling, mentoring, and advocacy to ensure job success.  * Assists the client in developing goals for the Individual Habilitation Services Plan (IHSP). * Assists the client in achieving the goals identified on their IHSP. * Participates in the client’s IPP meeting.  * Participates in facilitating employment classes for clients. Qualifications:   * Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities desirable. Requires initiative, creativity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer skills necessary.   * Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR and Core Competency Training and Direct Support Professional Training and other training as required.    * Must have reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, a valid California driver license and driving record acceptable to TASC insurance provider.   * Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.   * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English.  * Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR   * Maintain all certifications up to date  Physical Requirements:   * Ability to drive company and/or personal vehicle for work, including transporting clients to and from work and/or appointments as needed, maintain valid driver’s license and car insurance, if required to drive for position.   * Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.    * Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards   * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.    * May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.   Availability from 8AM-5PM, Monday through Sunday
