Join us as a Teacher, where you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality learning, utilising a range of teaching and learning strategies to ensure student success. This position requires a professional who is aware of strategies for improving learning, understands curriculum developments, and is creative in finding solutions to enhance student performance. Welcome from the Principal: 'New leaders have begun to transform the culture of the school' (Ofsted Nov 2024) so come and join us on the continuation of our transformative journey. Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City was constructed in 2011 with state-of-the-art facilities and joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust three years later. The school has undergone a huge transformation for its 1200 students, with an innovative curriculum and a personalised approach to learning, enabling our young people to realise their vocational, practical, creative and academic abilities. 'Pupils learn an ambitious curriculum that the school has carefully sequenced' (Ofsted Nov 2024) to ensure that we give our young people the best chance to succeed. Our students are a really special group of young people, and they are at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our ambitious curriculum, and, as a result of 'high-quality pastoral care’, our students thrive and are proud to be a Cityzen. Come and take a look at what we offer, and see if you could be a part of Team City - #WeAreCity and we are striving for excellence. Will you join us? About the Department: Are you a Design and Technology enthusiast ready to inspire the next generation? Do you dream of a career where you can truly make a difference? We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Design and Technology. We offer an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and motivated team, and you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Applications are invited from the following subject disciplines: Food or Resistant Materials. The Design and Technology department is a friendly, supportive and high-performing team of teachers. The department includes a combination of experienced and more recently qualified staff. The department is a great place to start your career as a teacher, as well as somewhere where more experienced staff can thrive. The department is well resourced with subject-specific equipment. There are two Resistant Materials classrooms and two catering classrooms. Every classroom has a visualiser, and these are used extensively by the team in episodes of guided practice. There is a substantial departmental office, and the department is supported by two technicians (Resistant Materials and Food). The Design and Technology curriculum is built with the end in mind, and the KS3 curriculum prepares students for the KS4 qualifications of WJEC Hospitality and Catering (vocational) and AQA Design and Technology. These programmes of study are fully resourced with high-quality materials. If you have any questions or would like to visit the school, please contact Helen Wardle at h.wardle@city.outwood.com.
