JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic DT Technician to join our innovative and forward-thinking DT Department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students bring creative projects to life and ensuring our workshops run smoothly and safely. If you thrive in a busy, practical environment and enjoy using your technical skills to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you!
The role is part-time, Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 1pm, 12.5 hours in total, for 37 weeks per academic year.
The role involves providing a proactive and efficient technician service which involves regular checks on the machines, preparing resources for lessons, ordering supplies and supporting within lessons, ensuring health and safety requirements are met at all times.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have qualifications relevant to DT, such as BTEC or A level or excellent GCSE grades or CREST gold award. It is essential that you have knowledge of and ability to use CAD software packages along with a good knowledge of workshop tools and machinery. You will also have excellent organisation skills and be able to work flexibly with a “can do” approach.
