Emanuel School has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technician to play a key role in the smooth running of our Design Technology department.
As a Design Technology Technician, you will be responsible for the organisation of all material stores, whilst adhering to safe working practices, as well as the ordering of all materials, components, tools, and consumables and maintaining clear accounts.
You will also be responsible for servicing and repairing machines, preparing materials for classes and supervising workshops.

The working hours are:

• Term time (35 weeks) plus two weeks in school holidays (37 weeks per annum) – 0.82 FTE
• 37.5 hours per week during term time (8.30 – 4.30, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch)
• 30 hours per week during school holidays (9.30 – 4.30, Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch)
• Occasional afterschool hours for DT clubs and activities. Saturday mornings and evenings may also be required (with commensurate overtime remuneration)

You will need to be familiar with the Laser Cutter, Stika machine and 3D printer operations.
Working knowledge of timbers, metals, and polymers as well as CAD CAM is essential.
No qualifications are necessary but a degree in a related subject (design or engineering) and or industry experience is desirable.
Experience with working with and maintaining machines such as lathes, table saws, bands saws and pillar drills and hand tools is essential.
