Description Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate and highly organized Medical Assistant / Surgical Scheduler to support our Breast Center – Magnolia. This dual-role position combines hands-on clinical support with surgical scheduling and coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in both medical assisting and surgical scheduling within a specialty practice. Key Responsibilities: Medical Assistant Duties: Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints Assist providers during breast center examinations and procedures Prepare and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and supplies Perform clinical tasks within scope, including injections, specimen handling, and patient education Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR) Maintain infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA compliance Surgical Scheduler Duties: Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures in collaboration with providers, hospitals, and surgery centers Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits for surgical cases Communicate pre-operative instructions, testing requirements, and surgery details to patients Coordinate post-operative appointments and follow-up care Maintain accurate surgical schedules and ensure timely documentation Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, surgical facilities, and insurance companies Requirements Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant and/or Surgical Scheduler (specialty practice preferred) Experience with surgical scheduling, authorizations, and insurance verification strongly preferred Strong understanding of EMR systems and medical terminology Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Compassionate bedside manner, especially when working with breast health patients Preferred Qualifications: Experience in breast health, oncology, women’s health, or surgical specialties Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
