The ideal individual will be able to conduct, assign, and review Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments for a variety of project types in the southeastern Georgia and South Carolina area. They will also organize and schedule the performance of Environmental Phase I/II investigations based on the client’s request and internal capability of existing staff. The candidate will conduct meetings with the clients as necessary to determine needs, cost expectation, and schedule, and develop proposals for Environmental Phase I/II assessments for review by Senior Engineers/Scientists. They will also conduct environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys to sample, measure and analyze air, water, source materials, and/or soil. Through these investigations and analysis, they will identify, evaluate and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. They will prepare applicable permit applications, risk assessments and technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence. Projects will primarily include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, but may also include UST closure assessments, remediation investigations, and site planning and permitting. Due to the nature of the position, the ideal candidate will be very organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 7 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 11 years’ related experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Certification in field of expertise.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

• Evaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.
