Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Duty Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all building systems and equipment within our facility. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage a team and respond to various technical challenges. Monitor and maintain the normal operation of all equipment to ensure safe and efficient functioning Coordinate and supervise planned maintenance activities carried out by contractors and in-house technicians Lead a team of managers, supervisors, and technicians to deliver high-quality support for the property Direct routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations Respond promptly to emergencies and take a lead role in resolving critical issues Ensure proper record-keeping of all maintenance activities, testing, and work requests Collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth operations throughout the facility Recommend and implement key service standards for the engineering department Assist in budget preparation and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and service quality Stay updated on local regulations and ensure compliance in all engineering activities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or facilities management industry Extensive knowledge of building services, systems, and equipment maintenance Strong leadership and team management skills Proven ability to handle emergency situations and make quick, effective decisions Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Familiarity with energy conservation practices and sustainability initiatives Knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations is a plus Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage Additional Information Your team and working environment: Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island is a unique resort; where exclusivity and luxury define every experience, every time.
