Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Duty Engineer to join our team in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all hotel systems and equipment, contributing to an exceptional guest experience in our tropical paradise. Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems Respond promptly and professionally to guest and staff maintenance requests, resolving issues efficiently Ensure all hotel premises, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, are in excellent working order Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance using computerised maintenance management systems Support the implementation of the preventive maintenance schedule and energy conservation initiatives Respond swiftly to emergencies such as power failures, equipment breakdowns, and safety hazards Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialised repairs and servicing Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental standards and policies Assist in supervising maintenance staff or technicians during shifts, as required Participate in shift rotations, including nights, weekends, and public holidays Collaborate with other departments to maintain a high standard of service and comfort for our guests Qualifications Diploma or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a large scale luxury hotel, resort or hospitality environment Pre-opening experience is beneficial Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations with resilience and flexibility Proficiency in using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) Thorough understanding of local building codes and safety regulations in Vietnam Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various conditions Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment Adaptability to work in a tropical climate and island setting (Phu Quoc) Additional Information What awaits you...
