Job Description As Duty Engineer, you will support daily engineering operations during pre-opening and live operations, ensuring all building systems remain safe, reliable, and guest-ready. You will execute preventive and corrective maintenance, respond promptly to guest requests and emergencies, and support commissioning and handover activities in line with Minor Hotels standards. Key Responsibilities Execute daily preventive maintenance and corrective work orders; ensure accurate logging and shift handovers. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, breakdowns, and engineering emergencies. Inspect, test, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-life-safety systems to required standards. Support commissioning, snag rectification, and equipment handover during pre-opening. Coordinate access with Rooms, Housekeeping, F&B, and Events to ensure safe and discreet maintenance activities. Monitor utilities usage during shifts and report abnormalities or efficiency opportunities. Maintain tools and spare-parts readiness; raise requisitions in line with internal controls. Act as the engineering shift lead, ensuring clear escalation and follow-up of unresolved issues. Comply with all safety procedures and participate in drills and emergency response activities. Contribute to a culture of teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hotel engineering or facilities maintenance role. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-life-safety systems. Comfortable with shift work, night duties, and weekend operations. Strong communication and coordination skills. Willingness to be developed into senior engineering roles within the hotel’s talent pipeline. Fluency in Lao required; English is an advantage. Company Location: Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel
