The King’s Head is a charming and stylish village pub in the heart of Hursley, just on the fringe of Winchester. Under new ownership and currently undergoing a full refurbishment, we’re aiming for a grand reopening in early June. Our new owners have been operating similar award-winning places for over 30 years, with proven success in creating welcoming, high-quality destinations known for great service, memorable food, and warm atmospheres.
With 8 beautifully refurbished en-suite rooms (targeting AA 4-star status), a welcoming pub and restaurant, and a passion for quality, this is an exciting time to join our growing team.
We’re looking for a dependable Duty Manager to help ensure the smooth running of daily operations across our busy bar, restaurant, and guest accommodation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid hospitality experience and a desire to lead, manage and motivate a team.
Duties will include:
· Overseeing daily front of house operations and ensuring smooth service
· Acting as a key holder
· Responsibility for staff management, rota planning, and team development
· Training new and existing team members to maintain high standards
· Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving guest queries professionally
· Taking responsibility for the atmosphere, flow, and tone of the service
· Managing and monitoring health & safety and compliance procedures
· Supporting with stock control, ordering, and deliveries
· Developing knowledge of food, wine, and drinks menus
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with autonomy. Wine knowledge is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
