Description
Design and release dynamic sealing systems that meet or exceed cost, quality, weight and delivery targets, concurrent engineering and thorough knowledge in DFMEA, DFM, DVP&R, CAE/FEA analytical tools, SCCAF, SC/CC, 8D, root cause analysis, product development and testing (seal gap analysis, door closing effort contribution analysis, wind noise, dust ingress and water management), familiar with gages, fixtures, tooling, TGW reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work), EC (Engineering concepts) and participate in the Sourcing Process (SOBA, ED&T review, piece price, tooling cost review and CPA). Lead FMA creation of engineering documentation (DFMEA, SCCAF, attestation scorecard sign off process). Sign off eCAD drawings with related GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Sign off on DVP&R tests, confirm compliance with System Design Specifications and materials M9P9 spec. Ensure AVBOM, cost targets and design gaps have clearly defined roadmaps that are validated by PTC to meet program objectives. Release parts in AVBOM, Change Control and WERS throughout the product life cycle. Achieve DPA count to glidepath with 0 open at UPV2 through FDJ (final data judgment / pencils down). Achieve P-Release on time. Complete FDJ/FEC/PEC with no open majors. Deliver DCV, TT, PP, MPI and MP2 build events, on time Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype builds and maintain it post Job 1. Support current production issues, cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives. Established and active employee resource groups BSME in Industrial, Materials Engineering or Polymer Chemistry 3-5 years of experience minimum, with elastomers (rubber/plastic), material specification and selection, weather sealing systems, vehicle integration, thorough understanding of build variation process. In-depth experience in product design, theoretical analytical skills to establish optimized sealing energy and manufacturing processes related to weather seals, extrusion and injection molding. Proficient with Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet, Catia v6/3DX / Team Center Strong working knowledge in significant and critical characteristics (SC/CCs) associated with dynamic seal product requirements and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills, competent, proficient and result-oriented. Possess strong skills in problem-solving and root cause analyses. Proactivity and courage to escalate emerging issues swiftly to Management's attention. Launch support and some travel are required Ability to work independently, with little supervision in a highly complex product development environment. Ability to work with and manage daily activities of the supply base. Ability to work with Ford Program Management, Cost Estimating, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing to ensure program milestones and cost targets are met. Ability to work under compressed timing constraints. Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and deliver results, in a swift and timely manner.
