SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST

MERP Systems, a CMMI Level 3 appraised, Microsoft GOLD Partner, and 8(a) services organization is seeking a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will represent the customer by mastering their business requirements as the SME. This Business Analyst must independently be able to drive and orchestrate the Discovery and Development phases that include business requirement gathering, documentation, feature prioritization, backlog grooming, internal QA, UAT delivery and signoff thereafter.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years of Business Analysis experience
  • At least 2 new system implementation experience (not just system enhancement projects)
  • Proficient with documenting actionable and testable user stories
  • Experience with testing, creating test plans and writing functional test cases.
  • Exceptional Analytical Skills (ability to comprehend requirements and come up with follow up questions as they are being verbalized by the customer)
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills (ability to build trust in the customer by becoming the SME on their processes)
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Dynamics 365 experience or background is required
  • Federal Government IT project experience is a PLUS

Responsibilities
  • Plan and drive the discovery process from start to finish by interviewing the functional stakeholders to extract the required information.
  • Conduct process mapping sessions and sketch out the as-is and to-be business process.
  • Help them visualize their future state by making process improvement recommendations.
  • Document the gathered requirements in detail including but not limited to: a. Business Process Flow charts b. Business Requirements i.e. Features/User Stories
  • Review the documented requirements with the customer, get their input and refine the requirements throughout the

Discovery phase.

  • Finalize the requirements and get signoff on the BRD to assist the Project Manager with Project scope management.
  • Be the internal SME for the functional requirements and the primary liaison between the DEV team and the customer.
  • Participate and weigh in on technical design decisions and play the internal Product Owner
  • Monitor development progress and ensure documented requirements are being met to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Lead the BAs through the testing phase by preparing test plans and executing the test cases as well
  • Collaborate with the project manager and DEV Lead to estimate and manage system implementation timelines.
  • Provide Sprint Demos to the customer before UAT delivery.
  • Coordinate and schedule periodic and ad hoc check in calls with the customer; prepare meeting minutes to summarize the discussion and highlight action items.
  • Be the customer’s conduit for post-production support and managing expectations for post-release enhancements.
