POSITION OVERVIEW: The driver will operate a company-provided Class DZ vehicle safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all relevant Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations. This position requires strong time management skills, efficiency, and the ability to meet customer and vendor requirements within established time frames. The driver must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to productivity while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards. A valid DZ driver’s license is required, along with a proven track record of safe driving, exceptional customer service, and the efficient execution of delivery operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Safely operate a Class DZ vehicle, ensuring compliance with Ontario's Commercial Vehicle Safety Requirements. • Maintain accurate delivery and duty status records, including destination, driving hours, and other necessary documentation, using the MTO logbook. • Efficiently load and unload materials at the Omex Plant, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols. Ensure that all materials and parts are securely loaded and properly fastened within the vehicle to prevent shifting or damage during transit. • Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, maintaining a safe work environment and reporting hazards or incidents promptly. • Adhere to the company’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, ensuring proper use of all required gear during loading, unloading, and throughout daily tasks. • Follow all traffic laws and road regulations at all times. • Maintain a clean and well-kept vehicle, working professionally and cooperatively with external suppliers and customers. • Comply with all internal environmental policies and procedures as outlined by the company’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This includes ensuring that all transportation activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes environmental impact, such as proper waste handling, emissions control, and adherence to company guidelines for fuel efficiency and resource conservation during deliveries. Actively engage in fuel-efficient driving practices to minimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions. • Ensure that the vehicle is equipped with all necessary safety equipment. In the event of an accident or breakdown, follow the company’s emergency response procedures. JOB DESCRIPTION • Utilize GPS and other route optimization tools to plan the most efficient routes for deliveries, factoring in traffic, weather, and road conditions. • Maintain clear communication with customers upon delivery, ensuring that all materials are delivered according to customer specifications. Provide professional, courteous service, and address any concerns or inquiries promptly. • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining professionalism and clear communication with supervisors and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. • Stay up to date with any changes to Ontario’s commercial driving laws and federal transportation regulations, always ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and other relevant authorities. • Submit all required reports, delivery records, and inspections to management on time. Ensure that all documentation is legible, accurate, and complete for auditing and regulatory purposes. QUALIFICATIONS: • Required:    o High school diploma or equivalent, with strong organizational and time management skills.    o Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record and 5+ years of safe driving experience.    o Ability to lift 40lbs.    o Proficiency in GPS and navigation tools.    o Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.    o Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and productively. Job responsibilities are expected to be completed within the 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be offered in response to operational demands, however; it is not guaranteed and will be assigned at management discretion. • Preferred:    o Previous relevant experience in a comparable role or industry.    o Forklift license.
