Description The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, and maintain the E-Coat application process, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance with all established safety and quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining optimal system performance and delivering high-quality finishes through the E-Coating process. Duties and Responsibilities · Conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis of paint baths, permeate rinses, and pre-treatment tanks used in the e-coat application process. · Monitor and measure film build (DFT) and adhesion to ensure consistent and high-quality e-coat application. · Oversee oven performance, ensuring proper temperature and airflow; adjust as needed to maintain process integrity. · Monitor deionized (D.I.) water systems, perform routine testing, and provide service as necessary. · Maintain and adjust boiler systems and heat exchangers to support optimal operating conditions. · Perform scheduled maintenance on filters and other system components. · Drain, clean, and refill system tanks in accordance with maintenance schedules. · Inspect equipment regularly, replacing worn or damaged components to prevent downtime. · Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and work areas. · Record and file Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and system monitoring results accurately and consistently. · Manage inventory and order necessary e-coat supplies, including chemicals, solvents, and other related materials. Requirements · Familiarity with general production and manufacturing methods or processes. · Ability to clean, maintain, and operate various equipment used in the e-coat process. · Willingness and ability to learn the use of lab equipment, hand tools, and electric tools relevant to the role. · Capable of monitoring the e-coat application process to ensure consistent quality and performance. · Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues related to application equipment. · Effective verbal and written communication skills. · Basic math skills for routine calculations and process monitoring. · Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. · Commitment to learning and following all safety procedures and guidelines. · Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. · Physical capability to push, pull, or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. · Flexibility to work overtime when needed. · Willingness to assist in other areas of production as necessary.
