Job Description
E-Commerce Specialist
Reports to: E-Commerce Manager
Location: Dubai (Al Quoz / Alserkal Avenue)
Type: Full-time, specialist role
Purpose of the Role
The E-Commerce Specialist owns the day-to-day management of the company's online store and its digital marketing channels in an evenly weighted dual mandate. On the store side, the role is responsible for the catalog, pricing execution, merchandising, and storefront of a customised Shopify Plus operation. On the marketing side, it drives email marketing, SEO, conversion rate optimisation, and paid performance, contributing genuine strategic input rather than relaying briefs. Around both sits a coordination mandate across company teams, technology vendors, marketing team, and the internal operations team. The role operates AI-first: automation of recurring work and expert use of AI tools are core to how it delivers. The role begins by executing against targets set with leadership and is expected to grow into full ownership of performance targets and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
1. E-Commerce Store Management
• Own the product catalog end to end: pricing execution, product data quality, and consistency across a large multi-variant catalog, with disciplined verification of every bulk change.
• Manage new product launches to full completeness, covering variants, product information, SEO fields, and imagery, in line with established catalog standards.
• Merchandise collections and maintain storefront presentation in line with commercial priorities and product availability.
• Execute storefront content and campaign updates through a controlled draft-and-review process before anything goes live.
• Keep store configuration aligned with operational capacity, and monitor daily order flow for exceptions requiring attention.
• Conduct periodic catalog and data-quality audits, and ensure any changes are updated cleanly.
2. Digital Marketing
• Own the email marketing program: campaign calendar, automated flows, segmentation, and list health, with full respect for consent and data protection requirements.
• Drive SEO: on-page optimisation, technical hygiene, performance monitoring, and growth of converting organic traffic.
• Contribute to paid performance strategy: campaign structure, audiences, creative direction, and budget allocation, supported by independent analysis of what to scale and what to stop.
• Lead conversion rate optimisation: analyse the funnel, identify friction, and propose, test, and measure improvements.
• Plan and manage promotional campaigns end to end, from mechanics and scheduling through tracking and closure.
3. Coordination & Vendor Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for e-commerce technology vendors and providers, owning support requests, fix verification, and overall integration health.
• Brief and manage marketing resources and creative contributors, with clear briefs, deadlines, and quality control against brand guidelines.
• Keep the internal operations team informed and aligned on launches, promotions, and changes affecting customer commitments.
4. Automation, Systems & Digital Transformation
• Actively identify repetitive, manual work across store operations and business and turn it into reliable automations, using automation platforms, integrations, and AI tools, with appropriate checks built in.
• Take part in the company's ERP and digital transformation initiatives in a coordination capacity: representing e-commerce requirements, supporting testing and rollout, and helping ensure alignment between the online store and back-office systems.
• Scope and coordinate small development and automation initiatives (integrations, API connections, app configuration)
• Maintain a working view of how the store connects to surrounding systems, and flag or chase integration issues before they affect customers or data quality.
5. Reporting & Performance Visibility
• Own the e-commerce reporting rhythm on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence: sales, KPIs, channel performance, and conversion, paired with analysis and clear recommendations that drive informed business decisions.
• Validate figures before reporting them, reconciling discrepancies across platforms rather than passing them through.
Candidate Profile
• Minimum 5 years' experience across e-commerce and digital marketing, with substantial hands-on Shopify administration (Shopify Plus exposure a plus); has managed a live catalog rather than occasional product uploads.
• Demonstrable results in: email marketing, SEO, paid performance, CRO, with the analytical habits to attribute outcomes correctly.
• A solid technical foundation is required: strong spreadsheet skills, comfort with data imports and exports, and genuine familiarity with APIs, integrations, and automation tools; able to read technical documentation, test a connection, and work comfortably alongside developers, with HTML, Shopify Liquid, or light scripting a plus.
• Advanced command of AI tools is essential: the role is expected to own AI as a working method, not merely use it. This means strong prompt engineering, structured context-setting, building repeatable AI-assisted workflows, pushing the tools to maximum efficiency, sound judgment on what to delegate, and rigorous verification of output before it reaches the store or a customer.
• A track record of automating recurring work is highly valued: candidates should be able to point to real automations they have built or driven, whether through automation platforms, integrations, or AI-based workflows.
• Precise and process-minded; able to work within established conventions and standards and keep them intact.
• Excellent written and spoken English; produces customer-facing copy and communication of professional quality.
• Project management capability preferred: able to run launches and campaigns as structured projects with plans, owners, and follow-through.
• Odoo (or other ERP) experience preferred.
• Based in Dubai or able to relocate
