Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF THE E&I TECHNICIAN ROLE

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our team in Cramlington. Within this role you will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance across the site, ensuring assets and systems are operating safely and efficiently. You will play a key part in diagnosing and resolving technical issues firsthand, helping to maintain optimal site performance and reliability.
This role operates on a day shift schedule.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carrying out electrical and instrument repairs, modifications, plant upgrades, installation and commissioning.
  • Conducting hazardous area inspections and repairs ensuring all hazardous area equipment complies with the statutory requirements and the appropriate standards are maintained.
  • Maintaining and proof testing Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Performing calibrations and functional testing of instrumented systems.
  • Problem solving and diagnostic checks on E&I systems.
  • Actioning permit to works.
  • Completing projects as defined by the area manager.
  • Developing maintenance procedures.

Requirements for the role

  • Recognised craft apprenticeship in an electrical discipline.
  • Ideally HNC/ONC level qualified or equivalent.
  • Must possess COMPex certificate.
  • Ideally have experience within the chemical industry.
  • Must have an awareness of maintenance requirements of Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised in a self-managed team.
  • Detailed knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX.
