Description

CCL are recruiting an E&I Turnaround Planner to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all electrical and instrumentation activities associated with planned outages and turnarounds in an industrial setting. The planner will ensure that E&I work is executed safely, efficiently, within scope, and on budget, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical & instrumentation planning for industrial turnarounds/outages (e.g., petrochemical, refining, power, or heavy industry).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, and relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, ISA standards).
  • Proficiency in planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Strong safety focus and familiarity with turnaround safety practices and protocols.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in Planning or Project Management (e.g., PMP, AACE, PMI-SP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with turnaround methodologies such as WorkFace Planning, LEAN, or PERT.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed work scopes and job packages for E&I tasks during turnarounds and outages.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement, and contractors to gather scope details and constraints.
  • Create job plans including labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Build detailed E&I schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Ensure all plans comply with company safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in scope development, risk assessments, and work prioritization meetings.
  • Support the procurement process by defining material specifications, lead times, and vendor coordination.
  • Provide progress tracking, resource forecasting, and schedule updates during execution.
  • Coordinate with other discipline planners to identify and manage interdependencies.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and validations to verify job scope and readiness.
  • Provide post-turnaround analysis and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
