Job Description & Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent 1 to 2 years related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work methods and process while working with children to support learning.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize specialized software and computer programs to develop/work with student materials.
• A basic understanding of speech language pathology principles (specific speech language pathology training is provided through professional development).
• Ability to comprehend and work to correct speech production errors.
• Effective basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Class 5 Driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• First Aid/CPR.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Educational Assistant (Speech Language Pathology) provides one-on-one support to students to assist in the improvement of their speech and/or language development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Are established by the Administrator of Student Achievement Support Services within the parameters of the job profile.
