• One-on-one assistance during the child’s participation in program activities based on Kittens’ Mittens Child Care Curriculum to promote the child’s unique physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Develop schedules and routines in accordance with the daily habits and necessities of a child in the classroom
• Individualize the curriculum as required, ensuring that all activities are accessible to the child
• Monitor, guide and engage the child during learning and play times (indoor and outdoor), meal times, proper hygiene caring, and nap/rest times to maintain a secure and safe environment
• Assess the abilities, interests and needs of the child and discuss progress and/or behavioural and learning difficulties a child may present with parents and other staff members
• Maintain child care equipment and assist in housekeeping
• Maintain a physical environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
• Help in serving snacks and lunch, arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• Other related duties as assigned
