The Wisconsin Early Education Shared Services Network (WEESSN) brings together family and center-based early care and education programs to pool resources and leverage economies of scale.
WECA is hiring a (1) Technical Consultants in the Southeastern childcare licensing region. This position will cover as needed the following counties: Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kenosha & Racine.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION EXPERIENCE WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE AROUND PRE-LICENSING/LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND LIVING IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN IS REQUIRED.

We are seeking skilled personnel to deliver responsive licensing technical assistance. This person will be responsible for supporting individuals and organizations in obtaining a license to operate a childcare program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Sharing information and resources on licensing rules with potential applicants.
  • Reviewing proposed policies and procedures of potential applicants.
  • Conducting site visits to the location of the childcare center, with additional visits as needed to ensure compliance with the initial licensing checklist.
  • Discussing best business practices for operating a small business in the childcare industry.
  • Offering technical assistance to applicants as they prepare initial licensing application materials.

The successful candidate will contribute to a seamless licensing process, supporting the development of childcare centers and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.

EDUCATION & REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred in Early Childhood or related field or Associates degree with 3-5 years of administrative experience OR 5-7 years of related administrative experience in lieu of degree
· Must have or be willing to acquire the Registry’s Technical Assistance and Trainer Professional endorsement
· Experience with Microsoft Office
· Able to communicate effectively, work independently, take initiative, problem solve, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions
· Bilingual (Hmong or Spanish) proficiency preferred
· Candidate must have demonstrated ability to work with and understand culturally diverse populations.
· Must clear a full background check, including fingerprinting.
· This position involves travel; access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license and insurance is required.
