Description Early Childhood Aide St. Therese Early Education Center, Kansas City, MO Description St. Therese Early Education Center (EEC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Aide to join our team. Our EEC provides care for children 6 weeks - 5 years old. Our year-round program serves students from 7:00 am - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. An ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in early childhood education as well as a genuine love for working with young children. As an Early Childhood Aide, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students, while also modeling our Catholic and Christian faith. Your creativity and enthusiasm will help shape the educational experiences of our young learners. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Assist in the preparation, supervision and engagement of learning activities for our students under the direction of the lead teacher. Assist in food preparation, serving meals and/or refreshments and cleaning. Assist in caring for students' individual needs while using age-appropriate discipline if needed. Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for all students. Assist in classroom organization and cleanliness to provide a conducive learning environment. Instill a love for Christ, and weave Catholic teachings into daily activities. Knowledge and ability to change diapers and help with potty training. Requirements Experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential. Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all children, including those with special education needs. Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset. This position requires a lot of movement, standing, sitting on the floor, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
