Our “WCK Explorers” have the opportunity to spend the whole day out in the natural environment on the Farm at Kureelpa or at our Bush Kinda site in Woombye. Exploring, discovering learning, and connecting with their natural surroundings as they foster an appreciation of the natural world, developing an environmental awareness. These spaces invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk-taking, and provide a platform for ongoing environmental education. Teaching future generations how to care for and protect their native environment while enjoying being outside.
We have an opportunity for a like-minded, skilled, passionate educator to join our small team.
We are seeking a Bush Kindy Educator/ Outdoor Educator for our Nature Education Program. .
If you are passionate about the outdoor, the environment, and animals and can see yourself spending the days outdoors immersed in nature on a 35 acres boutique farm with cows, ponies, donkeys and pigs and a 6 acres backyard bush site with ducks, chickens, stingless bees, this dream job might be the one for you!

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

The ideal applicant will have the following key qualifications and experience:

Qualifications -

  • Diploma / Bachelor Early Childhood
  • Current Blue Card, or Exemption Card for Registered Teachers
  • Current Senior First Aid, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
  • Prior teaching experience in an Early Childcare Sector (15mths to school age)

· Experience in running a Bush kinda, Nature play education program.
· Prior training, i.e., a Forest Schools cert, or workshop attendance from Wildlings or Nature Play, will be highly regarded.

  • Confidence and ability to build and maintain open and collaborative relationships with families, children, and the wider community.
  • Excellent written communication

Demonstrated experience in planning and documenting and delivering a high quality, play, inquiry based, child centred, early childhood educational program.

  • Familiar with an inquiry-based curriculum, Reggio Emilia Approach
  • Knowledge, understanding of the benefits of nature play
  • A passion and value for the philosophy of learning through play, outdoor education, sustainability, and reconciliation.
  • Commitment to monitoring, documenting, and extending children’s learning and development,
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Early
  • Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten LearningGuidelines.
  • Understanding of the early childhood code of Ethos and be able to apply this throughout all working practice, both with children and staff
  • Knowledge and ability to create and implement policies and procedures consistent with legislation, regulations, and local requirements.Professional Development
