OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the educational and developmental needs of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education, with a focus on fostering a love for learning through engaging activities and individualized support.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development theories.
  • Familiarity with special education practices, including working with individuals on the autism spectrum or other disabilities.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues..
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and fostering their growth in a supportive environment.
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 18 – 36 per week

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • BC ECEA Certificate (required)
  • First Aid Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that promote overall childhood development.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Engage with children during activities to encourage participation and facilitate learning.
  • Help with curriculum development tailored to the needs of children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
  • Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with educators to create inclusive lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster strong relationships and support student progress.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
