Description Job Overview The Early Childhood Education Implementation Lead will work with the Sr. Director of Curriculum and Implementation to ensure high quality early childhood teaching and learning for all core AVANCE programs. The Early Childhood Education Implementation Lead will provide expertise in early childhood education, specifically on topics related to child assessments, school readiness outcomes, and developing multi-language learning environments. The Early Childhood Education Implementation Lead will provide resources and support to deepen the AVANCE Network’s implementation of the Ideal Learning Principles. The Early Childhood Education Implementation Lead is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere at all times for AVANCE internal employees and AVANCE external program participants. Job Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Champions access to high quality early education in all core AVANCE programs that will prepare every child for long-term academic success. Works in collaboration with Sr Director of Curriculum and Implementation to lead pilots and scaling of innovative practices, such as Ideal Learning, across regions. Sets up model classrooms and drives instructional innovation. Collaborate with internal teams to support expansion of innovative practices. Represents AVANCE at the Ideal Learning Head Start Network. Teaching and Learning Assists in the development and implementation of early childhood learning program goals and curriculum. Provides coaching, and models successful early childhood teaching strategies to ensure instructional practices support school readiness and the developmental needs of young learners. Researches child assessment tools and makes recommendations for use, based on best practice and alignment to AVANCE programs. Develops plan of action and makes recommendations to support a multi-language instructional approach across all core AVANCE programs. Training Educators and Leaders Develops, plans and implements effective training and professional development for AVANCE programs staff, chapter staff, and licensees that supports high quality teaching and learning in early childhood education settings, grounded in the Ideal Learning Principles. Collaborates with AVANCE chapter leaders and/or staff to support chapter professional development plans for high quality teaching and learning in early childhood education settings, grounded in the Ideal Learning Principles. Prepares and presents reports on child outcomes and school readiness indicators to inform strategic decision-making. Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required. Performs other duties as assigned. AVANCE Core Competencies Execution & Accountability Problem Solving & Decision-Making Communication & Influence Collaboration & Teamwork Stakeholder Focus Adaptability & Continuous Learning Requirements Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field Preferred: Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field Work Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in early childhood education with at least three (3) years in a leadership role Experience in program and project management in a non-profit organization or school setting that focused on instructional delivery, training, and implementation support Preferred: Experience with Head Start/Early Head Start programs. Additional Skills Knowledge of Child development programs and standards; principles, theories, practices, methods, and techniques used in early childhood classroom instruction Charismatic trainer with experience training, mentoring and/or coaching teachers or adult learners Spanish fluency helpful, but not required Independent, self-starter with a positive attitude Strong alignment with AVANCE’s values, especially in meeting our clients where they are and valuing diversity Creative problem solver who embraces change and a culture of excellence Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Experience with Microsoft 365, MS Office Suite, and Video Conferencing Tools Travel Ability to travel to various sites: Dependable transportation is required daily with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check and policy), current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, Inc. Travel required up to 30% of the time for work-related site visits, meetings, and functions. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in an office environment. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices). Standard office equipment generally used includes: Telephone Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet Printer/Photocopy Machine Calculator May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties. Mental and Physical Demands Maintain emotional control under stress; work with interruptions and deadlines; walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing 10-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
