TO BEST MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SETTING IT WOULD BE IDEAL FOR CANDIDATES TO BE OVER 21 AND HOLD A DRIVING LICENSE. ALTHOUGH THIS WOULD BE PREFERRED IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT

At Acrewood Nursery we provide a beautiful, homely and welcoming environment which nurtures children’s emotional well being, and aims to provide the best experiences to help children learn and develop through play. We care for n age range of 0-12 years across 3 play spaces.
We are looking for a passionate individual who understands the importance of supporting and facilitating learning through children’s interests and at their own pace.
We are looking for an Early Childhood Educator to work across the setting in a flexible capacity but mostly with our older children in our out of school club. This will require working with all ages from birth to 12 years. The candidate would be required to be able to work flexibly between the hours of 8am & 6pm Monday to Friday to meet the needs of the setting. The job post available will be for 20 hours however overtime will regularly be available and we would expect our successful candidate to be open to working up to 40 hours per week in times of need.

Candidates must…

  • Have an HNC in Early Learning & Childcare, an SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or an equivalent or higher relevant qualification in childcare or early years practice
  • Have a new and full PVG check carried out if they are successful
  • Register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting the position if successful
  • Provide high quality care and learning at all times
  • Have knowledge, understanding and experience of working within a curriculum
  • Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding & child protection
  • Have knowledge and understanding of child development
  • Be able to complete observations and documentation of children’s learning and development
  • Be able to/able to adapt to technology required to meet the job role
  • Understand and be able to demonstrate best practice in a care setting
  • Have practical skills for supporting and facilitating play by observing children’s interests and developing needs
  • Be patient, understanding and non judgmental
  • Have a positive attitude towards work and duties
  • Be flexible and reliable
  • Be able to carryout daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a high quality environment
  • Be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate professionalism
