JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. The Early Childhood Educator will work closely with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working with children in a child care setting is essential.
  • An Early Childhood Educator certification level is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Work as an effective team member in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment that enhances the total development of each child.
  • Interact with the children in ways that promotes self-confidence, language skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships.
  • Interact with children in kind, caring and respectful ways.
  • Plan a variety of responsive experiences, supported by observations, to foster the holistic play-based goals (Well-Being, Play and Playfulness, Communication and Literacies, and Diversity and Social Responsibility), child development and interests.
  • Use observations to intentionally plan a variety of responsive experiences in all areas of play, based on children’s interests and needs daily.
  • Utilize computer operations for administrative tasks such as outcome reports, record keeping, and communication.
  • Engage in play with the children in the co-construction of knowledge (co-learner, co-researcher, and co-imaginer of possibilities).
  • Be knowledgeable of and carry out the Early Learning and Child Care Regulations as per the Early Learning and Child Care Act.
  • Contribute to a responsive environment by using time, space, materials, and participation.
  • Reflect upon, interest, and respond to observations and documentation to inform practice.
