JOB POSTING: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR

We are currently seeking an Early Childhood Educator to join our team!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Holds a valid BC ECE Certificate or Diploma through the ECE Registry
Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector search
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (as per childcare licensing regulations)
Holds and maintains ECEBC Membership
Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and other pedagogical frameworks is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inclusive, contextually and culturally responsive learning experiences in collaboration with children, colleagues, families, management, students, ECCL faculty, pedagogist, and community
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment
  • Provide ongoing supervision and care
  • Observe and document children’s progress, contribute to individual care plans, and provide appropriate support as needed
  • Knowledge of and compliance with childcare licensing regulations
  • Practice in ways that align with the ECEBC Code of Ethics
  • Engage in ongoing relationships with the ECCL program students and Faculty including practicum mentorship and ECCL observing and recording course feedback
  • Seek and maintains positive/open communication and relationships with children, families, colleagues, management, college employees, community partners and other relevant connections or professionals
  • Engage in ongoing professional development specific to the context and needs of the centre
  • Adhere to the centre’s policy and procedure manual, staff handbook, and other documents relevant to the centre and work of the early childhood educator
  • Is a member of and works within the standards set in the CUPE Local 4951-1 Collective Agreement
  • Uploads communication, documentation, photos, and stories to the centre communication platform (Storypark) on a regular basis
  • Guides children in ways that consider the individual child, context, centre and family philosophies
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities in moving through daily routines and transitions alongside children and educators
  • Attends monthly staff meetings
  • Actively participates in care and maintenance of classroom
    Start Date: August 25, 2025
    Work hours: 7.5 hour shift Monday-Friday (1/2 hr paid break included). Rotating shifts between the hours of 7:30-5:00.
