Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As our Early Childhood Educator in our Curiosity Early Learning Centre, you will work as part of a team to provide inquiry learning programs for children aged 3 and 4 years. The role is ideally Full Time but happy to consider Part Time (0.8) for the right candidate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the delivery of the curriculum or program by supervising and observing children, with particular consideration for their interests, aptitudes and special rights
  • Support children in their learning choices and help them to play and work with focus, purpose and enjoyment
  • Contribute towards the organising and preparing of materials and resources for general and specific activities
  • Contribute to the initiation and development of special projects which may include researching and collating information
  • Contribute towards the highly valued teamwork of the centre
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment by assisting with domestic duties including cleaning after children’s activities and assist in preparing snacks and drinks in accordance with food safety guidelines
  • Contribute to developmental records, documentation and portfolios for children
  • Liaise with other ELC and Good Shepherd Staff and other Early Childhood Professionals
  • Develop professional relationships with parents and staff
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Assist with the maintenance of ELC resources, collections, material, equipment and other administrative tasks as required
  • Assist with evacuation procedures, first aid and accident/incident management
