Job Title: Early Childhood Educator – FSCD Contract (1:1 Support for Child with Autism)
Location: Beverly Day Care Society and Family Resource Centre, Edmonton AB
Position Type: Part-time (Contract)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 12:00pm–4:00pm; Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm
Contract Start Date: September 2, 2025
Contract Duration: Ongoing based upon FSCD approval

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to work 1:1 with a 4-year-old boy with autism through a Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) contract. This role involves supporting his participation in a preschool program, implementing individualized strategies, and fostering his social, emotional, and developmental growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Early Childhood Education Level 1, 2, or 3 certification (or in progress).
  • Previous experience supporting children with autism or developmental needs preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, individualized support to the child in both group and one-on-one settings.
  • Implement strategies outlined in his FSCD service plan, in collaboration with therapists and the family.
  • Support skill development in communication, self-regulation, social interaction, and daily routines.
  • Adapt activities to meet his needs while promoting independence and engagement.
  • Maintain open communication with the family, and staff.
  • Document observations, progress, and strategies used.
