EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR (FULL-TIME 35 HOURS PER WEEK)

Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (MPNH) is located on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and traditional homelands of the xʷməθkwəyə m (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səlílw ətaʔ/Selilwitulh (TsleilWaututh) Nations. Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House is looking for experienced, passionate, and values-based Early Childhood Educator to join our 3-5 room team. Using a collaborative approach, the Childcare Director, the Early Years Coordinator and the team of Early Childhood Educators will co-create a new early years centre with 69 spaces located on the rooftop of Eric Hamber Secondary School. The centre opened on April 1st 2025.
MPNH is a member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC (ANHBC). ANHBC Childcare Programs are inspired by the BC Early Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia Approach. This is an exceptional opportunity to help lead the way and co-create an inspirational Early Learning Program. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid BC Basic Early Childhood Education Certificate required.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate required.
  • Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.

* MINIMUM 3-5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING IN LICENSED CHILDCARE.

  • Ability to provide programming based on the principles of the BC Early Learning

Framework and the Reggio Emilia Approach.

  • Understanding and commitment to creating inclusive spaces.
  • Excellent guiding and caring skills.
  • Understanding of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent and proficient oral and written communication.
  • Passion and commitment for ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Creativity, critical thinking, flexibility and sense of humour.
