QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Childcare certificate Level 1, 2 or 3 for the kinder group position, Level 2 or above for the OSC position
  • Must have or willing to obtain Driver License Class 4 / Class 5 (for the OSC position)
  • Knowledge of the FLIGHT curriculum preferred
  • Abilities to plan activities based on children’s interests and needs
  • Physically and mentally fit enough to work with children
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural group and with children of diversified abilities
  • Experience with early childcare, especially in the out of school care session, preferred
  • Great understanding of children with a diversity of needs
  • Knowledge of developmental stages of different age groups
  • Ability to carry out positive guidance strategies
  • willing to handle challenging behaviors
  • Strong communication skills and able to develop strong relationships with families
  • Abilities to work alongside other educators and employees as a team.
  • First-Aid Training
  • Criminal Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Children Intervention Check

Responsibilities
  • drive the daycare vehicles to provide transportation for children that attend schools in the neighborhood (the OSC position)

  • Conduct observations and make reports of observation to identify interests and needs of children
  • Record children’s play and development and be ready to report to parents and supervisors
