EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR LEVEL 1, 2 OR 3

We are an nonprofit out of school care program operating in the heart of Inglewood, a wonderful and vibrant community with excellent commuter links (transit, cycle, uber, car, etc.). We operate yearly from September – June, working with school-aged Children (KG- Grade 6). This role is perfect for a person who loves working directly with children; some one who is active, creative, kind and a team player. We are looking for 2 part time applicants with a Early Childhood Educator Certificate- Level 1, 2 or Level 3. These are fixed term yearly contracts
Applicants hours of work:

September to June

  • Monday to Thursday 2:30 pm- 6:00 pm
  • Friday 12:00 pm- 6:00 pm

REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be enthusiastic and engaging working with school age children
  • Have a clear understanding of school age development
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Able to follow direction from senior staff and communicate in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Successful applicant must provide a criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector search
  • Provide or Obtain first aid with CPR certification
  • Provide Early Childhood Educator Certificate from Alberta Government
  • Provide personal and professional references
Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing daily, weekly and PD day activities and programming
  • Care for and actively supervise children
  • Assist in Walking Children 1 block to/from school
  • Communicate with parents in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Obtain the Alberta Food Safety Basics Course- online
  • Obtain WHMIS Certificate-online
  • Obtain Training in Alberta Occupational Health and Safety- on site- paid time
  • Keep program clean and organized daily
  • Assist in maintaining children’s attendance sheets daily
  • Maintain confidentiality as out lined in the programs Confidentiality Agreement
  • Assist in maintaining the programs Licensing status
  • Attend monthly staff meetings Friday 9:30 am- 12:00 am paid time
  • Assist in end of day clean up and closure of the program
  • Complete 3 professional development workshops per year.
  • Follow policies and procedures as outlined in CWP Handbooks
  • Complete Individual Professional Development Plan for yearly staff performance Evaluations.
  • Assist in advance daily cleaning protocols to maintain a safe & healthy working environment
