At B-Smart Daycare & OSC, we are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. We are currently looking for two passionate and qualified Room Supervisors to join our team!

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for the weekly and daily planning, implementation, and supervision of activities in your assigned classroom. You will ensure the safety, well-being, and developmental progress of the children in your care, while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere.
In this leadership role, you will also be responsible for leading, training, and supervising a team of early childhood educators within your room. You will help guide best practices, ensure consistency in curriculum delivery, and support your team in maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a resident of Alberta with a valid work permit, permeant resident, or Canadian citizenship.
  • College certificate, diploma, or university degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Alberta.
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Valid First Aid in Child Care (First Aid, AED, and CPR Level C certification)
  • Proven experience in early childhood education.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and supportive attitude towards children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable of the Alberta Licensing Act and Alberta Health Guidelines for childcare centers.
  • Plan and implement a daily program that aligns with children’s interests and follows the Alberta Flight Curriculum.
  • Create engaging weekly bulletin boards that showcase children’s work and activities.
  • Prepare projects and activities that promote innovative themes and provide extended learning opportunities.
  • Record and manage daily attendance.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and in-service workshops.
  • Ensure the health, sanitation, nutrition, and safety of each child at all times.
  • Document any accidents in the accident log and follow up as necessary.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or behavior changes in children to the appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding children to be respectful, kind, and well-mannered.
