McLeod Lake Indian Band is seeking a dedicated Certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to foster the intellectual, physical, and emotional growth of young children in a safe and nurturing environment. Working under the direction of the Education Director, the ECE will collaborate with staff to provide high-quality, inclusive childcare and family support services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification, Class 5 drivers license preferred.
1+ years of experience working with children in a childcare or recreation setting.
Experience working in a First Nations community or organization is an asset.
Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
Preference may be given to the following: Indigenous people with relevant experience; those with previous experience or a combination of skills and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

· Follow the Child and Family Development and Schedule Childcare Licensing Regulations.
· Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum for children aged infancy to 5 years.
· Plan, organize, and document activities to support early childhood learning.
· Work closely with management and staff to tailor curriculum and family services to individual needs.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in all activity and program areas.
· Uphold confidentiality regarding the Centre, staff, children, and families.
· Assist with potty training and diaper changes as needed.
· Plan and prepare weekly meal schedules and complete grocery shopping.
· Travel to Mackenzie 1–2 times per week for Strong Start and AIDP programs.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
