JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a Christian early learning centre providing a warm, faith-based environment for children ages 3–6. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood Educator & Music Teacher who can nurture children’s development, guide them in biblical truth, and create joyful learning experiences through both play-based learning and daily music lessons.
As part of our team, you will plan and implement programs that support all areas of child development, integrate Bible stories and Christian values into daily routines, and lead a 20-minute music lesson each day using your musical skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 1 certification (minimum)
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a licensed daycare or preschool setting
  • Music: Education in music is preferred but experience in music will be considered; must be able to play at least one instrument
  • Other: Current First Aid/CPR certification and clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inclusive and developmentally appropriate daily activities for children aged 3–6, in alignment with Alberta early learning frameworks and biblical teaching.
  • Guide children in understanding and practicing Christian values, including prayer, worship, and Bible stories.
  • Plan and lead a 20-minute daily music lesson, incorporating singing, rhythm, and movement activities, and teaching basic music concepts.
  • Provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, and storytelling.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and respectful learning environment.
  • Observe children for signs of learning progress, emotional well-being, and health concerns, and discuss these with parents and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to plan activities, share resources, and maintain a supportive work environment.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper supervision of children at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children’s learning and spiritual growth.
