POSITION SUMMARY

The Early Childhood Teacher Assistant provides instructional and supervisory support to young learners in early childhood classrooms. This position assists teachers in implementing educational activities, supporting individual student needs, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and administrators
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of and ability to effectively support the developmental and educational needs of students
• Successful completion of all mandated background checks, including fingerprinting
• Successful clearance through the confidential child abuse/neglect database (Trails)

• Work an 8-hour day, Monday through Thursday (4-day school week)
• Provide instructional support to students in regular, special education, and independent learning settings
• Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
• Provide direct supervision of students throughout the school day, including transitions, meals, and recess
• Support teachers with lesson implementation and classroom activities
• Maintain accurate records and complete required reports as directed by teachers and administration
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families as needed
