Description

The Goddard School, located in Marshallton/West Chester, an Early Childhood Education center, is currently hiring full time Preschool teachers. Experience working with children under the age of 5 is necessary. This can be in a classroom atmosphere or as a nanny/babysitter. Candidates must be caring and kind individuals who want to make a positive difference in the lives of young children. Candidates will be selected based on their ability to actively engage children in a safe, nurturing and loving manner, as well as effectively communicate with co-teachers and parents in a busy classroom environment.
Our school is open Monday -Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

All candidates, who wish to be considered must meet the following criteria:

  • To be considered candidate must have prior classroom experience at a childcare center or related experience working with children under the age of 5
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and inherent love for young children
  • Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Be available to start employment within a few weeks of accepting an offer
  • Live within a 30 minute commute to West Chester, PA
  • 18+ with a high school degree or GED. CDA, associates, or bachelors in related field a plus!

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
  • Help to implement weekly lesson plans based on Goddard’s Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes
  • Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence while supporting each child’s social and emotional development, and individual needs
  • Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication
  • Appropriate and professional communication with fellow staff and management, cultivating a healthy and functional working environment that fosters teamwork
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions
  • Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Quality Assurance and PA state standards
  • Work with a team of other teachers in the classroom
