JOB SUMMARY:

Mount Sinai Education Inc. is pilot testing a program and is looking to hire an Early Childhood Educator/Tutor for child(ren) (ages 3.5 to 5). Home-based tutoring is needed for 1 hour per day, at least 4 days a week. Responsibilities include teaching spellings, reading, basic arithmetic and language. The position is located in Square One Area, Mississauga so you must be able to commute daily for about an hour. Preferably, someone from the neighbourhood and with a car to avoid commuting issues. Competitive Hourly Pay (minimum 4-6 hours a week). Vulnerable sector check and references are required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Current high school/university student (must submit latest transcripts) OR Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma/certificate.
  • Ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons in literacy (reading, spelling), numeracy (basic arithmetic), and language development.
  • Skills in engaging children aged 3.5–5 in focused learning activities while maintaining a positive environment.
  • Knowledge of early learning frameworks, with the ability to use games, songs, and interactive methods to teach core concepts.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to engage children.
  • Ability to prepare lesson materials and maintain a consistent teaching schedule.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Vulnerable Sector Screening / Police Clearance.
  • At least 2 professional references.
