Reports to: The Early Childhood Educator reports to the Program Supervisor.  Here’s how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis: * Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program. * Guide and care for a group of children ages 3 to 5 years old * Encourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for children * Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children * Maintain effective and cooperative team work and communication * Maintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and families In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have: *  ECE basic &/or Special Needs Certification *  Childcare First Aid and Food Safe Level 1 * Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication  * Strong knowledge and awareness of: * Emergent curriculum and the BC Early Learning Framework * Developmental needs of children * Family engagement strategies and parenting issues and needs * Guiding and caring strategies * Knowledge of broader child care field and its role in the community Additional skills and experiences may include: *  ECE Infant / Toddler Certification * Child care experience working in an inclusive child care setting * Second Language Terms of Employment:  * Salary: $27.85 to $28.74 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits.
