Position Title: Early Childhood Educator or Early Childhood Educator Assistant
Location: Elm Drive YMCA Child Care ( 8855 Elm Dr, Chilliwack, BC V2P 4Y8)
Term: Temporary, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Monday-Friday rotating shifts between the hours of 6:45am to 6:00pm
Start Date: September 2, 2025
End Date: April 24, 2026
Salary: $29.20 per hour for ECE License (includes $6 per hour Provincial Wage Enhancement Program)
$21.61 per hour for ECE Assistant License
Reports To: Team Lead

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care and creative programming directly to the children
  • Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
  • Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
  • Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
  • Ensure constant active supervisor and collaborate as a team to facilitate smooth transitions between play areas.
  • Utilize our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
  • Keep a clean and safe environment – in all program areas and common spaces
  • Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standard
