The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways. About the Role? As Early Childhood Engagement Officer, your role is to support local family and community connections, within Southeast Queensland, and across nominated regional locations within Queensland. The role will be the conduit between the family, the IUIH clinics and early childhood education services, to support engagement and participation in appropriate early learning experiences prior to formal schooling. Your day-to-day duties will include: Connect with families to enable their uptake of the Deadly Kindies program incentives. Identify families with eligible aged children to support access and participation to kindergarten and other early years learning programs. support clinics to understand and adhere to Deadly Kindies program processes. Provide support to local staff in Deadly Kindies locations outside of South East Queensland, if required. As part of a team, lead the coordination of stand-alone Deadly Kindies events and the team’s participation in other local community events. About You? Current Criminal History Check. Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card). Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities Experience in early childhood education settings is desirable. Certificate III or above in Early Childhood Education or similar is desirable. What Can we Offer?
