Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Academy is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to be the lead teacher in our classroom for 3/4-year-olds.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Saint Charles Academy is seeking a qualified and experienced teacher. Every teacher is a member of the professional staff with responsibilities in the areas of instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student/parent relations, faith life, and community relations.
All teachers are required to possess a valid and current Teaching Certificate and/or hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists, must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools.

CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND CLASSROOM PRACTICES:

  • An understanding of the Catholic Faith and the ability to witness to it personally and professionally.
  • Developing a careful and creative program suitable for early childhood age children
  • Employ variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, arts, dance, media, etc.)
  • Provide tools and experiences for children to use and explore during learning and play
  • Establishment of a classroom environment that develops the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of all children
  • A working knowledge and familiarity with the guidelines of state licensing for childcare
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A willingness for collaboration and work effectively to promote positive relationships with staff, students, and parents
  • Management of a safe and nurturing environment
  • Development of relationships with parents to encourage communication regarding their child’s growth and development
  • Develop lesson plans to promote spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional growth
  • Completion of Protecting God’s Children training, Fingerprinting and Background Check
  • Must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools, or willing to work towards certification
