SUMMARY

Our child care program is looking for a full-time Early Childhood Education Assistant or Float Teacher who loves guiding young children in their learning. We are interested in someone who has experience working with children between 6 weeks and 5 years old, is loving, very flexible and patient, dependable, is organized with strong time management skills, and is a quick learner. Multi-lingual or being a Nature Enthusiast is a plus. The right applicants must be available Monday through Friday 9am-6:00pm. All genders are encouraged to apply.
Duties
� Follow daily schedule assigned to you each day. You must be on time with your schedule to ensure staff get full breaks, adequate planning time, and are able to go home on schedule.
� Work assigned hours.
� Daily, weekly, and monthly chores that are posted in the classrooms.
� Work where assigned and follow each classroom?s posted lesson plan.
� Attend all staff and in-service meetings throughout the year.
� Assist the Lead Teachers in preparing necessary daily and weekly reports, ensure that the reports are sent home.
� Follow the Academy?s positive guidance and redirection techniques, to maintain consistency for all children throughout the Academy. Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child. Maintain a solid, positive and professional relationship with all families and staff.
� Follow the toilet training program that is set out by the Lead Teacher. Change diapers as needed and when it is the scheduled time.
� Assist in keeping classroom supplies stocked and ensure all supplies are used appropriately and waste is at a minimum.
� Perform other related tasks as required from the Directors, Program Supervisor, and Lead Teachers.
� Assist in providing training and direction for new employees and volunteers.
� Report all damaged materials to the Director.
� Refer all disputes, complaints or misunderstandings that have to do will children, families, vendors, employees and the general public to the Director.
� Report any suspected child abuse/neglect to CPS, as you are now a Mandated Reporter in Washington State.
� Sign in and out each time you come to work and for your lunch.
� Maintain confidentiality policy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma
  • Cleared Tuberculosis Test
  • Cleared DYCF Background Check through MERIT.
  • Proof of MMR vaccine or immunity
