South Portland School District is excited to welcome a dedicated and passionate early childhood Special Education Teacher to our team. In this role, you will plan and deliver specially designed instruction for pre-K/K students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment. A deep commitment to creating a respectful, engaging, and supportive culture that encourages positive behavior and personalized learning is essential.
Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively with families, Child Development Services, and administrators, and continuously reflecting to enhance teaching practices.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration skills, expertise in IEPs, differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications. A 282 certification is required, and experience in early childhood education is preferred. Additionally State of Maine Elementary Education 081 Endorsement certification preferred.
