Description

Early Childhood Specialist
Location: Surrey or Sussex
Type: Full Time, Field-based, With Travel
Salary: £DOE + car allowance (Driving Licence/Access to a car essential)
This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
Role:
Leadership position in Bright Horizons UK, providing hands-on pedagogical advice and support to nursery teams through regular visits to ensure high-quality care and education.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in early childhood education with medium/large providers or Local Authorities.
  • Proven track record in quality improvement and securing positive inspection outcomes.
  • Strong decision-making skills, ability to inspire innovation and support change.
  • Experience in developing and leading high-performing nursery teams.
  • Minimum 3 years in early childhood, understanding legislative frameworks, safeguarding, and best practices.
  • Ability to write clear reports and use IT for quality monitoring.
  • Previous experience as an OFSTED/Care Inspectorate inspector or in Local Authority roles.
  • Experience managing nurseries and improving quality and inspection outcomes.
  • Engagement with practitioner networks for quality improvement.
  • Teaching and training experience in early childhood subjects.
  • Expert knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and inspection processes.
  • Understanding of Bright Horizons Nurture Approach (internal candidates).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 in Early Childhood Education (Essential)
  • Relevant first degree (Desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualifications (Desirable)
  • Thrive Licensed Practitioner (Desirable)
  • Continuous professional development (Essential)
  • Leadership and Management qualification (Desirable)
  • Teaching certificate/experience in Early Childhood Studies (Desirable)
