ABOUT US:

Langley Children’ s Center (LCC) is an employer-sponsored and NAEYC-accredited early learning program for children from 3 months to 5 years of age. LCC is open year-round from 7AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a a childcare professional to work as a part-time Early Childhood Support Teacher for 3-5 year olds. Responsibilities include: assisting classroom teachers in guiding and supervising children during lunch, rest time, and during teacher planning/meeting times. Actively engaging children in play during the afternoon on the playground and in classrooms.

THE ROLE OF A SUPPORT TEACHER:

The Support Teacher understands what supporting children, teachers and a classroom environment looks like. With many fast paced daily tasks in multiple classrooms throughout the day, a support teacher is on-call classroom support.
This is a part-time, end of day position and work hours are 12:00-6:00 PM. Additional hours may be offered, as needed for classroom support.

FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment in compliance with licensing regulations and accreditation standards, as well as, LCC’s policies and procedures.
• Implement the Conscious Discipline approach to supporting children’s social-emotional development and behavior in the classroom. Training will be provided.
• Work a 6-hour shift.
• Able to engage in repetitive movements (sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs.)
• Able to be outdoors with varying temperatures (highs and lows) and mild inclement weather( rain, snow, wind).
