INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as ‘The Food Bowl of Australia’ as around 25% of the total value of Victoria’s agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER

Hourly Rate: $33.01 to $56.58 per hour (rate dependant on years of experience and validation level)

Greater Shepparton City Council Early Years Services has an exciting maternity leave position for an Early Childhood Teacher at our Dolena Young Kindergarten in Shepparton starting in Term 1 on the 29 January 2024 until the 2 August 2024.
The successful applicant would ideally enjoy working in a sessional kindergarten setting and have a holistic approach to supporting children to believe they are strong, resilient and caring of others and themselves; actively work with the Dolena Young team to exceed standards in a collegiate environment and be interested in supporting education and care for their community.
We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher with a Bachelor of Early Childhood and care, or currently enrolled, and more than 30% completion of a bachelor qualification, along with Level 2 First aid and CPR, VIT or Working with children’s check, and a police check or willing to get one.
Days of work are Monday and Thursdays currently 8.30am – 4:30pm, with the possibility of additional hours.
