ABOUT US:
Hawthorn Early Years Inc. (HEY) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation providing families with a comprehensive range of exemplary learning programs for children aged 4 months to 6 years.
At HEY, we recognise the importance of providing a rich, nurturing environment that allows children to flourish and become confident and independent learners. Meaningful partnerships with families and educators create an inclusive environment, celebrate diversity, and promote a sense of belonging for all children. HEY is co-located with services, including Maternal & Child Health and the Hawthorn Library, within the Hawthorn Community Precinct, in a purpose-built facility with integrated indoor and outdoor spaces.
JOB SUMMARY:
More than a job, a rewarding career. At HEY, we teach children to love learning so they never stop growing. Children are active participants in their learning, with educators partnering with them to find out what they already know so they can build on this and broaden their knowledge and skills.
We believe that children are capable learners who need secure ongoing attachments, which we ensure occurs through a key teacher approach. Early childhood educators teach the basics of numeracy, literacy, music, art and literature and promote students’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
