JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team at Carlton Learning Precinct working in partnership with Carlton Primary School and other community services, making a positive impact for the local community.
Are you ready to step into an Early Childhood Teacher role? This could be the opportunity you have been waiting for. We are looking for a part time Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in a parental leave cover position until June 2026.
For over 85 years, Gowrie Victoria has been at the forefront of high-quality early learning. We’re a not-for-profit organisation with a reputation for inspiring others and shining a light on best practice.
Our strength is our culture. It is built on a foundation of genuine curiosity. We encourage our teachers to ask questions, be reflective and bring new ideas. Gowrie teachers are supported with coaching, leadership development and opportunities to collaborate with each other. We want to empower our teachers be their best selves and have the autonomy to develop programs that meet the needs of their learners.

Responsibilities

Our Early Childhood Teacher role is a three day per week (we are flexible with non contact hours), part-time opportunity for our funded kindergarten program, working in a 3-5year old mixed age group. You’ll lead, coach, and inspire a small team of educators in developing and implementing a high-quality pedagogical program by role modelling professional practice reflective of Gowrie Victoria’s purpose, philosophy, and values. You will do this by:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the broader community
  • Coaching and mentoring educators to achieve individual and team goals
  • Developing documentation that demonstrates intentional teaching and reflects children’s curiosity and learning
  • Actively participating in, sharing, and embedding professional learning in the pursuit of higher standards
